About Me

Before becoming a therapist, I spent ten years performing in theater, comedy, and improv. Those experiences taught me a lot about being present, listening closely, and staying curious about the people in front of me.

I also spent those years working as a nanny and preschool teacher, which gave me an experiential education in emotional regulation, family systems, and human development, long before I had the clinical language for it.

In 2022, I trained as a yoga teacher and developed a much deeper understanding of grounding, body awareness, meditation, and the role our nervous systems can play in how we experience and move through the world.

Outside of the therapy room, I love playing board games with my friends, taking pottery classes, walking in the woods, floating in any body of water, and hanging out with my two cats, Buckley and Biber (pictured here, because of course they are 🐱).

At the office and at home, you’ll rarely find me without at least one of my many emotional support beverages: coffee, sparkling water, Diet Coke, or some combination of the three. Feel free to bring your many beverages into session with you- I won’t judge!

Values

I am a white, cisgender, bisexual, neurodivergent woman, and I believe it’s important to be transparent about the identities I bring into the therapy room. Those identities shape how I move through the world, what I notice, and what I might miss. In the therapy space, cultural competency begins with recognizing that you’re the expert on your own experience and acknowledging that mental health doesn’t exist separately from systems, culture, and identity.

I welcome my clients’ feedback and regularly use supervision, consultation, and continuing education to examine my own assumptions and stay accountable to the people I work with.
